How it works
Everything is normalised internally to metric (kilometres and litres) before converting to your chosen display units. US MPG uses the US gallon (3.785411784 L); UK MPG uses the imperial gallon (4.54609 L). L/100km and km/L are already metric. Fuel used is distance × consumption, total cost is fuel × price, and the per-person figure divides the total by the number of people sharing. Nothing is sent anywhere — the maths runs entirely in your browser.
